Oral history interview with Leni LaMarche, Dec. 9, 1982.

LaMarche talks about her family and personal history. Her grandparents were all from the Isle of Rhodes. Her parents met and married in Seattle, where LaMarche was born. She remembers Sephardic traditions of entertaining guests, household life, and the old Yesler neighborhood. She talks about her first marriage and divorce, after which she worked at Boeing Aerospace Company during World War II and then the shipyards. She describes the difficulties she had in her second marriage and the importance of her non-Jewish husband gaining acceptance in her congregation, Ezra Bessaroth. She also talks about her own children's Jewish upbringing. She comments on how her knowledge of Ladino and Sephardic traditions has remained strong.
